A dark and dreamy indie pop tale about the excitement of a love-at-first-site encounter as you begin to trust while falling. It’s about really knowing yourself, while getting to know that special someone, while learning to let go of past “ghosts”.
Acoustic guitar chugs through a warm, atmospheric wall of heavy shoegazer guitars, while haunting Cello and Strings answer the male and female vocals in true ghostly fashion.
in early 2010, the band had made quite a few friends in the MTSU and Watkins filmmaking circles, and on a whim before a local show, Bradley invited his friend Matt Holden out, a filmmaker with a keen eye for surreal, ambient, eerie scenery.
As host and creator of a weekly horror show review "Something about zombies" a weekly series on local cable television. Matt had created a mash-up vintage film score for The Arcade Fire, and instead, shared the footage with the band, which liked the idea of creating more unusual vintage film mash-up for songs. That same spring, Boyer had met Rhonda Phipps: (Filmmaker, Director ) through mutual friends. With a shared affection of 1920's - 40's vintage French and German films, it was obvious a plan for interesting live films during shows was underway.
At their following live show, Boyer invites his two closest filmmaking friends although they had never met, Rhonda set up ambient lighting, and shot HD film- moving around the whole show, while Matt's vintage horror mash-up was flickering across the entire back of the stage. This footage became the first Auto Defiance music video ever published.
